Russian navy locates missing ship
The ship, Artic Sea, sailed off from Finland to Algeria on 23 July carrying onboard a cargo of timber worth US$2 million (S$2.9 million). The crew of 15 on the ship was said to be hijacked on the night of July 24 by 8 masked man. The crew let them embark on the ship as they were fooled by their lie that they had some problem with their inflatable craft. Then they threatened the crew to change the course way of the ship with their firearms and turned off the freighter's navigation equipment. The ship's owner claimed that hijackers boarded the vessel near the Swedish island of Gotland. The hijackers claimed to be searching for drugs and reportedly beat then tied up the crew. They sped off half a day later in a inflatable craft. The ship was found on Monday with all the crew safe and sound.
This kind of situation often happens. Someone gets tricked because he is too kind. People tend to make use of others' kindness to gain sympathy from them and then trick them of their properties or other kinds of valuables to reach their goal. This is quite despicable for those who do that as to those for lend them a helping hand. Being kind is good but it may lead to your ow demise sometimes so being suspicious of people sometimes is good as they may have ulter motives.

Favourite Food
I like eating fast food especially McDonalds. There are a variety of food and I like the Big Mac burger most. It has two layers of beef , vegetables and cheese. It is not spicy and the taste is very strong. The taste of beef is mixed with cheese and lettuce which bring out the taste of the beef to its maximum level for a burger. Since it has two layers of beef, the smell is also very strong. I can smell it from a distance. Every time I eat it, I always put ketchup before savouring the burger. Sometimes I put chili sauce but it was quite annoying as the sauce oozed out of the burger sometimes and make the burger seem disgusting. It is not much different from double cheese burger and I think most people prefer double cheese burger. For me, I like Big Mac because it has one more piece of bread. The beef is quite salty for me so I prefer eating it with an extra piece of bread just like eating salty kimchi with rice. The lettuce also helps make the beef taste less salty and one thing that I do not like about it is that it is too big and i have a hard time eating it.

Why is it important for students to keep up to date with the news? Share some tips on how students can keep up with what is happening around them
It is important for students to keep up to date with the news.Without knowing what is happening around the world,they will face problems with their lives.Like for example if students do not keep up to date with the news,they will now know that there are terrorists attacks happening in neighbouring countries.During the holidays he may just want to go there without knowing how dangerous it is.In the end he may get hurt.Now there is H1N1 diseases spreading around,if students does not read newspaper and watch the news regularly,he would not know the precautions to take to prevent being infected by the diseases and may end up contacting the disease.
Students can keep up to date with the news by reading newspaper regularly. They can also watch the news report every evening or during the night. If he is so busy until he cannot spare time for that, he can ask his friends and classmates about the recent news.

What are some tips you would offer fellow students to stay healthy?
Want to be healthy? The first thing to do is to have a balanced diet. Every meal we eat must consist of vegetables and meat so that we have enough vitamins and nutrients. Only meat without vegetables will not do.
Sleeping well also contribute to our health. If someone suffers insomnia, he or she is vulnerable to diseases especially flu and fever which may eventually lead to H1N1. Teenagers should try not to engage in too much activities which shortens their sleeping time. They should at least sleep for eight hours a day if not at least seven hours.
Teenagers for some reasons bath only once every few days especially during the holidays. Maybe they find it troublesome but cleaning our body every day is very important as there are always germs around us. We will fall sick easily if our body is not clean. For example eating with dirty hands may get you into hospital because of food poisoning

Sometimes they just ask their friends for answers and that task assigned by teacher is done. Rather than learning, they prefer slacking.

I like this poet’s way of writing. She does not tell us things directly and most of the times we must infer. Like for example the poem “Phenomenal Woman” in the first paragraph, she did not tell us what the secret was about or what it was but she mentioned pretty woman. It gives reader a feeling that the secret must be some kind of way to attract me or become beautiful since it involves pretty women. Almost all women want to become more beautiful and especially pretty women since they take pride in their beauty and refuse to lose in terms of beauty.
For almost every paragraph she writes she ends it with the title of the of the poem. I do not really like that as it really irritate me a lot to see the title again and again but I still like her overall work. When I read Phenomenal Woman I always wondered what the secret was about, then I look at the line where she mentioned that the women did not believe her so I thought that there was no secret as she was just being herself.
The poem “Still I rise” and “Touched by an angel” seemed to have some link with her actual life. Since she was a black she was probably discriminated by the others. She was also raped when she was young. She did not lead a good life in her childhood days and was probably in misery and pain. Later when she was 16 she gave birth to a child. Somewhere during that time maybe she found someone she loved and he freed her from the misery.
She is a very capable woman. She held multiple jobs like fry cook, dancer, actress, journalist, educator, television producer, and film director.

What happens to a dream deferred?Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?Or fester like a sore--And then run?Does it stink like rotten meat?Or crust and sugar over--like a syrup sweet?Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.Or does it explode?
Similes are used for this poem as the poet wanted to give the readers an idea of what a deferred dream in his opinion like "dry up like a raisin' in the sun". Personification is also used for this poem. The poet mentioned that the dream would run, giving the idea that it may just disappear someday. Hyperbole is used throught this whole poem. The poet exaggerated a lot like fester like a sore. In reality this kind of things would not happen, maybe he was just trying to relate a dream to some kind of living thing that is neglected.
This poem does not have a unique style of writing but the words used are very unique. Syrup by itself is already very sweet, but the poet added crust and sugar on it which made the syrup as sweet as possible. The poet compared the smell of the dream and the two examples are very far apart. I do not know what his motive is but I just find it very interesting. Speech on illeha; sale of organs
In India, illegal sale of organs is very common.Most of them were very poor and thus they sold their organs but some cases was because dishonest doctors removing their organs qithout their consent and sellling it for his own profit.
Why is this happpening?One of the reasons is because the officials of India are corrupted(this is what i think it may not be true)that is why the people are so poor and had to sell their organs to make ends meet.
Next is the greediness and mankind.The doctors were greedy so they secretly removed their patients' organ to sell for money.Now the technology is very advanced and people stay in their houses or work all day.Thus they exercise very rarely or never at all and in the end suffer from illness.When the hospital doesn't have enough organs to help them transplant,they resort to buying organs in order to save their lives.

Current Affairs (Term 1 Wk 9)
Q: Write a 400-word exposition on gender equality in your country.
In Singapore,gender equality isn't much of a problem.Male and female are treated equally and some female excel in their work and produce work of better quality than male.
What about in other countries?Are gender equality a problem?
Take America for example,it may appear that there isn't a problem but i feel that that is a great problem.You may see the males there as decent and upright but behind the scenes they desire porn to feel good thus they treat female as sex toys.They don't love the woman they have sex with and often throw them away once he has gotten tired with her.
When females own loan shark money,they won't be killed.The loan shark will force her to strip and take a camera and take a few photographs and post it to the internet.Unlike males,the kind of treatment they recieve is far worse.Males would normally be beaten up but females would be forced to do take naked pictures to repay their debt.Being hurt emotionally is far worse than being hurt physically as being hurt physically is instant but being hurt emotionally is forever.
Due to the overwhelming desire of sex,porn websites are created and normally the female suffer the most.Now,America even has a programme called the "Naked News" when the female reporters are made to report naked.This problem does not only occur in America but also other countries too. Austrialia now has naked woman wash cards.The owners of the car get to watch the female naked while washing his car for more money.The company uses woman to strip to help him earn money.
In Japan,romance manga and hentai animes often contain sex scenes which focuses on the woman's body and reactions but all the male do is rape them.This shows that woman are mainly recognised as tools to satisfy males.
I don't mean that there is no gender equality though.In the past,woman were thought to be useless except for housework,prostitudes,opera singers and etc.They were made to stay in the house to learn housework and were often treated worse boys.Even though they had talent,they were not given a chance to reveal it to the world as they cannot study,become officials.
Now,things are much different.Everywhere you go,you can see female working.They are no longer forced to stayed at home and they can even produce work of greater quality than men nowadays.In Sindapore,females excel more then men and they work for the government with high pays.This shows that gender equality is not a problem in Singapore.Considering the facts I have stated,Singapore would be a country where male and female are treated more equally.

After Philip transfered to washinton acedamy,he felt very lonely,without friendes,no track team only a soccer team which he is unfamiliar with.after a month,he had enough of the loneliness and decided to own up but after all the chaos he created,people all thought that he was the victim and even his parents are decieved.if he confessed,his situation will be far worse than miss narwin.reporters will gather outside his house and questions which he don't know how to answer will come to him continuously.it will also do bad for his parents since they went to complain about miss narwin with others and this issue was spread across the whole country.telegrams would be sent to him and it would be able to flood his house.now his former classmates are working to clear miss narwin's name.he would become the centre of gossip and life will be hard for him includiong participating in competitions and olympics.his future will be ruined and that will be the end of him.dreading the prospect of these nasty things to happen to him,he continued to keep quiet about the issue.when he finally can't take it anymore,he went to smoke and drink so drown his sorrows even though he was underaged.eventually,he was sent to jail when he was 20 for smugglingof drugs and feeding on them.the reporters did not let go of the chance to dig up some information on why he ended up in this situation and found out about the truth of him humming the national atheme instead of singing and miss narwin merely sent him to the assisstant principal rather than suspending him.inside the jail,he had gone madand kept sprouting nonsense
